What does it cost to be photographed during pregnancy?
Maternity photography at Natalie Vell Studio begins at $1,099. Three experiences are available:
- Light — $1,099
- Comfort — $1,499
- Premium — $1,799
Each experience includes professional studio photography, complete posing guidance, access to the maternity wardrobe, and a collection of professionally retouched images.
The difference between the packages is not simply the number of minutes spent in front of the camera. It is the amount of creative space we have to build your gallery: more looks, more variety, more finished photographs, professional beauty preparation, and printed artwork.
You are not paying to know how to pose
Most women who come to my studio have never modeled professionally. Many arrive worried about their changing bodies, unsure of what to wear, or convinced that they are not naturally photogenic. They often believe they need to practice posing before the session.
You do not.
My work begins long before I press the shutter. I plan the lighting, help select the wardrobe, demonstrate every pose, and guide the placement of your hands, shoulders, chin, posture, and expression.
You are not paying for an hour in front of a camera while being expected to create the photographs yourself. You are choosing an experience in which the technical and creative details are handled for you.

Every maternity experience at Natalie Vell Studio is designed to create polished portraits while giving you a different level of time, variety, and finished artwork.
The Light experience — $1,099
The Light experience is a focused maternity session for the client who wants a beautiful and varied collection without planning a longer photoshoot. It includes:
- 1-hour studio session
- Up to 3 looks
- 10 professionally retouched images
- Access to the studio wardrobe
- Complete posing and expression guidance
Three looks give us room to create more than one version of your maternity story. You may choose an elegant gown, a clean studio portrait, flowing fabric, a modern bodysuit, a classic black look, or selected personal clothing. I will help coordinate the looks so they feel different while still belonging to the same gallery.
The Comfort experience — $1,499
The Comfort experience provides additional time, more styling variety, a larger final gallery, and a printed collection. It is designed for clients who want their session to celebrate both the mother and the family waiting to welcome the baby. It includes:
- 1.5-hour studio session
- Up to 5 looks
- 20 professionally retouched images
- 20 printed photographs in 6×9 inches
- Partner and children included
- Access to the studio wardrobe
- Complete posing guidance for everyone participating
The additional time allows us to create several individual maternity looks without sacrificing the family portion of the session. Your partner and children may join for their photographs while you still have enough time for individual portraits, wardrobe changes, and more creative lighting.
The 20 printed photographs give your images a physical life beyond your phone or computer.
The Premium experience — $1,799
The Premium experience is the most complete maternity session available at Natalie Vell Studio. It is created for the woman who wants to experience the full transformation: professional hair and makeup, the greatest variety of looks, an extended final gallery, and custom wall artwork. It includes:
- 2-hour studio session
- Up to 7 looks
- 30 professionally retouched images
- One 16×20-inch custom canvas
- Complimentary professional makeup and hairstyling
- Partner and children included
- Access to the studio wardrobe
Professional hair and makeup takes place at the studio before photography begins. Once beauty preparation is complete, we move into wardrobe selection and begin the session in the same private space.
Seven looks allow us to create a maternity gallery with a wider emotional and visual range. Your collection may move from soft and timeless to dramatic, modern, elegant, sculptural, or bold. The included 16×20-inch canvas transforms one selected portrait into artwork created for your home.
What changes between the packages?
Every package includes professional photography, posing guidance, wardrobe access, and retouched images. As the investment increases, so does the creative range of the experience.
More time
Additional session time gives us the freedom to change wardrobe, lighting, backgrounds, and visual direction without making the photoshoot feel rushed.
More looks
Different looks allow you to express more than one side of yourself. Your gallery can include soft portraits, dramatic shadows, elegant gowns, flowing fabrics, classic black-and-white photographs, modern styling, and family images.
More finished photographs
A larger collection allows you to preserve more expressions, details, relationships, and visual styles from the session.
Printed artwork
The Comfort experience includes 20 printed photographs. The Premium experience includes a custom 16×20-inch canvas.
Professional hair and makeup
Professional makeup and hairstyling are included with the Premium experience. Hair and makeup may be added to an eligible package for $399.

The studio wardrobe is part of every experience
You do not need to purchase several maternity gowns before your appointment. Every maternity package includes access to the Natalie Vell Studio wardrobe, featuring gowns, fabrics, bodysuits, accessories, and statement pieces created for studio photography.
I will help you choose pieces that complement your body and work with the lighting and poses planned for your session. You may also bring selected personal items, including jeans, a blazer, heels, jewelry, or something meaningful connected to your pregnancy.
The purpose of the wardrobe is not to make every client look the same. It gives us the materials to create a session that feels personal to you.
What happens after the photoshoot?
Within approximately one to two days after your session, your unedited, straight-from-the-camera images will be uploaded to a private online gallery.
You will review the gallery and select the photographs you would like professionally retouched according to your package. After you complete your selections and notify the studio, your finished retouched photographs will be delivered within 21 business days.
Additional retouched images may be purchased for $20 each.
Your private proof gallery is part of the selection process. Unedited images are not presented as finished Natalie Vell photographs.
Is a deposit required?
A $399 deposit is required to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due on the day of the photoshoot. The deposit is nonrefundable if the session is canceled by the client.
Your session is not reserved until the required deposit has been completed.
Is there a weekday benefit?
Yes. Book your maternity session Monday through Friday and receive two additional professionally edited images at no additional cost.
The weekday benefit applies to eligible bookings and gives you two more finished portraits beyond the number included in your selected package.
When should you schedule your maternity session?
For most pregnancies, I recommend scheduling the photography session when you expect to be approximately 28 to 32 weeks pregnant. At this stage, the belly is usually beautifully defined while many clients still feel comfortable changing outfits and moving between several poses.
You do not need to wait until you reach 28 weeks to contact the studio. Reserving earlier gives you a better opportunity to choose a preferred date within your ideal photography window.
